Sponsor policy

Who is refused, decided upfront.

A prepaid sponsor cannot be quietly removed later without a refund, so the list of what won't go on the car is written down before the first bid rather than improvised after it. outdrive.lol is driven by a named person with a day job; the car goes to that job. That shapes the list.

Refused categories

  1. Gambling, betting and casinos (online or offline)
  2. Adult content and escort services
  3. Tobacco, vaping and nicotine products
  4. Weapons, ammunition and military contractors
  5. Political parties, campaigns and referendum committees
  6. Religious organisations and movements
  7. Payday lending, debt collection and get-rich-quick schemes
  8. Multi-level marketing
  9. Unregistered securities, token pre-sales without a Swiss or EU legal opinion, and anything FINMA would call a public offering
  10. Content that is hateful, discriminatory, or defamatory towards anyone
  11. Direct competitors of the driver's employer
  12. Anything illegal to advertise in Switzerland

How it's applied

  • Every winning bid is reviewed against this list before the deposit is captured at close. A refused sponsor is told, the hold is released in full, and the slot goes back to auction for 72 hours at the previous price.
  • Artwork is approved at size before it is cut. Logos, wordmarks and a URL are fine; slogans, claims and QR codes are reviewed case by case. Nothing that would embarrass the driver at work goes on the driver's car.
  • Crypto, token, exchange and DeFi sponsors are welcome subject to the securities line above, and are prepaid-only. That is enforced at checkout, not by policy.
  • If a sponsor's business changes category mid-term in a way that would have been refused at the start, the decal comes off and the remaining months are refunded pro-rata from the reserve.
